Ascension Day Evensong
Thursday, May 14 at 7:00 p.m.
This Service of Choral Evensong is an important part of our annual observance of the Ascension at Old St. Andrew's.
Ascension Day is the day celebrating the bodily ascension of Jesus Christ to heaven 40 days after His
resurrection from the dead on Easter Sunday. It always falls on a Thursday, and therefore is sometimes overlooked
as a special observance, but here at Old St. Andrew’s we offer a choral evening prayer on Ascension Day with
hymns and prayers sung by our Parish Choir and members of The King’s Counterpoint, our Ensemble in Residence. (There will be no sermon or Communion at this service.)
We will continue to celebrate the Ascension in our regular Sunday services on May 17, and we hope you will plan to attend both services and be doubly blessed on this most sacred occasion.
“May our hearts and minds also there ascend, and with him continually dwell.“ (BCP p.613)

Red Cross Blood Drive in Memory of Sally
Friday, June 5, Old St. Andrew's
Sally Humbert was a dedicated, long time Old St. Andrews member. Sally received the life saving gift of
114 units of blood after surgery, and as a way to give back her family and OSA sponsor an annual blood drive
in her honor. Will you consider making a donation?
