Dear Members of our Old St. Andrew’s Family:

This Sunday, May 17, we will re-open the doors of Old St. Andrew’s to our church family.  For the foreseeable future, we will offer services at 8:00, 9:30 and 11:00.  Our 8:00 service will not be “live-streamed,” but our 9:30 and 11:00 services will continue to be offered for our church family to attend, or to watch via internet.  I hope to see many of you this Sunday, but only if you are healthy and are comfortable coming.
I’ve attached a “protocol” to this email that will outline our guidelines for resuming worship.  This protocol has been approved by the Bishop’s office, in line with many guidelines given to us by the Diocese.  We are one of only a handful of churches in the Diocese that will reopen this Sunday, and we ask your patience as we navigate through the requirements that we have in place for everyone’s health and safety.
The main point I want to stress with these guidelines is that everyone attending worship, other than clergy and choir, must wear a mask inside the Church.  This is an absolute and is mandated by the Diocese.  Please don’t make me be “mask police”!  Be creative!  I even went so far as to gift a Clemson mask to Brad Nettles yesterday.  Cindi Smith has made masks for sale outside the Church on Sunday, and proceeds will go to the Water Mission project in the Dominican Republic.
Please take a read through the attached protocol.  I hope to see you Sunday, and I am so looking forward to us being together again.  Our Gospel lesson for this Sunday is from John 15.  Jesus teaches us about the vine and the branches, tells us to love one another and to abide in Him.  Christian faith is about relationship, and these past few weeks apart have been difficult.  I’m so glad we can open our doors for worship again!
I hope to see you Sunday, if you are comfortable coming.  If not, tune in on the internet!

In Christ,
Marshall +
